Here's something I've been working on on and off for a while, finally finished it! I'm mostly focusing on improving my drawing ability right now so it was fun to do some detailed character painting. This is also my first fully fleshed out character painting using my new Yiynova; it works like a charm. This painting is very significant to me, it being a landmark of my progress. 8 years ago I finished my first ever digital painting (at the time done on paintshop pro) and I've been remaking that same piece every two years ever since to track my improvement. I'm very pleased with the amount of improvement I see from the 2012 remake, so much has changed in two short years, I can't wait to see where I'll be at in 2016!

I drew Hercules for sketch dailies over on twitter, Monroe style!

I've been studying the properties of light and shadow, so I decided to put some of my new knowledge to the test with a quick face study.

Here's some quick landscape studies I painted, just getting my feet wet! Backgrounds are completely alien to me, so these little studies are to help me kind of understand what it is I'm drawing, I'm keeping things mostly in greyscale to get a handle on values too. I'm just going to keep pushing my way forward, it's super awkward and I have no idea what I'm doing but it's a lot of fun! Just gotta keep at it :)

And finaly, morning gestures and studies!

I did a bit of animation on the final episode of the Bravoman webseries, check it out! The crew at Copernicus did an amazing job :) First time seeing my name in credits, so that's pretty exciting!

Painted this quick background for an art challenge I've got going on facebook, hoping to put more effort into these in the future. The theme was fragile and we had a color pallet constraint. I used the works of Maurice Noble to inspire this Road Runner style rock formation.

Here's a little get well soon illustration I did for someone I know in the hospital. Get well soon Terry!

I decided to get into mediation last Summer to help myself learn to deal with big life changes, anxiety/stress, that sort of thing and I have to say it is one of the best decisions I ever made for myself! I'm a strong believer in self-improvement and self-evaluation, so it's been a key element in my goals for my own personal growth.
