So here's the final of my Jump animation background, although there are a few things I need to change still. Surprisingly had a lot of fun with it, I def want to keep doing more backgrounds! I'd like to try my hand at very stylized backgrounds and rendering styles.

As for the animation itself here's where I'm at! Stil got a looong way to go, but it's going well enough.

For some reason I can't stop drawing really dumb little doodles of Toon Link? Now I feel like playing Wind Wakeeeerrrr agaaaaaain!

Aaaah man, I totally forgot to post about this! One of my best friends Naomi (check her stuff out!) used her insane painting skills to render one of my sketches!

Here's a step by step of her process she put together

And here's a better look at the final render. She did an amazing job and I'm ridiculously proud of her, I know she's got it in her to go so far someday! (If you're reading this Neo don't forget about me and gimme a job someday :D)

Been having lots of fun with designing silly seachimps (formerly called them seamonkeys). I quite like the one sad expression I drew here haha. This has been a really fun little side project!

Wearing heels is so fun, but I always feel so obnoxious making all that noise in quiet spaces haha

Oh yeah, I forgot I finished this thingy last term, yeah.

So I just started a new flash class this term! I can't believe how much I've learned in the small amount of time I've had with the program already, it's looking like it's going to be a really great class!

In layout class we're doing the background for our animation project, the jump animation. I'm doing a halloween setting, here's a rough of what I have now. Still needs a lot of work, we'll be rendering and coloring these in flash so I wonder how well that's going to go haha

Here's a rough of my jump animation with the rough background. Got a lot of work to do on it still but I'm pretty happy with how it's going!

Also, for this animation I decided to do "digital thumbnails". I sketched out the rough action and timing I wanted in flash (I figured I should get use to using flash now since I'll be working with it quite a bit) and then I filled out a rough draft exposure sheet with all animation notes jotted down. This work process has been working pretty well so far, might be that I'll keep doing that for future projects! Here's just a little gif of that rough animation.

Still super excited for the new pokemon game woooo I'm def going to chose Fennekin as my starter! (Because I always chose the fire starter and IT'S THE CUTEST THING EVER.) I will disown it if its later evolutions turn out to be fire/fighting, though.

And a buncha exploratory doodles for our next animation assignment. Trying out different looks, although I still find they mostly all look the same. Gotta try harder!

Pikachu doodles! Having way too much fun drawing pokemon, so much fun to draaaw

Sketchbook doodles, Brie on top and an unnamed exploratory design on the bottom. The eyes look so derpy hahaha, I need to figure out a good way to draw them!

And a work in progress of a layout I'm finishing up for school, I am being sooooo sloppy on this thing waaaa

I need to get back on the internet, I've missed this place!

So here are some design sketches I did for my fat dragon run! Hoping to finish that soon.

And some design sketches for another smaller run

And here's me and my mom at Walmart. This is actually EXACTLY how it happened hahaha

I'm back! So I've been super busy with finishing up stuff at school for end of term, but it will soon be time for me to get back in the groove of working to better myself as an artist (aside from doing schoolwork, that is). Not to mention I have a little break period between terms, woohoo!

I bought a new sketchbook that's bigger than my previous ones and I love it! I feel like I have a lot more space to draw and it's easier to use my whole arm too. But unfortunately the pages are too big for my scanner so it's going to be a pain to upload stuff from now on since I'll have to Frankenstein different scans together, but oh well.

More pokemon designs, this time sandshrew! It was surprisingly difficult coming up with designs for this pokemon and I'm not sure why? I also feel like I'm always using the same general body shapes and variations over and over again with every pokemon I do so I need to change things up. (Also I am SUPER excited for pokemon X and Y to come out next fall!!!)

Just a fun doodle, trying to work with different curves an straights to make something appealing and interesting.

Some character design doodles for my newest personal project, can't wait to really get into this one!

We finished off life drawing class this term with one of my favorite assignments, cafe sketches! Me and some of my classmates went out to McDonalds an entire morning and drew people from observation. I'm actually very pleased with how my sketches turned out, I feel like my design skills are really improving! (I was really hoping no one would come to check out my work since a lot of these sketches aren't exactly flattering hahahahaaaaaaa)

I guess you could say I'm lovin' it (zing!)

Oh jeez I haven't updated in a little while, just wrapping up some big end of term projects, back to blogging in a few days hopefully!
