10 WHOLE DEGREES, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? Oh Canadian Winter, you spoil us.

Dumb doodles aside, I made myself one of those twitter things! I want to start networking my art a lot more so I can get a job eventually, or something. I'll also be able to, uh, follow people, and be all "in the loop" and it's gonna be great, probably. I can barely keep up with this blog and tumblr as it is, but I'll get to actually using it eventually, most likely.

I also wanna get myself set up with a portfolio website! First things first; draw things I can put in my portfolio.

So "tweet" me, or whatever kids are calling it these days https://twitter.com/NatashaSmall15

Buncha Goofy doodles! I've got a lot more on the way too in the coming weeks haha
He is tricky to draw, man.

Another fat cat

Drew this for Pen Densham!

Wearing my hair up has it's hazards, namely hair wings. -shutters-

First animation of the term! Pretty satisfied with it, although it has many inconsistencies. I'll try to fix most of them when it comes to cleaning it up later in the term.

Oops, totally forgot to update over the weekend! Not to mention my girl Chloe was hangin' with me. We had a very distinguished evening of wine drinking and Spongebob Squarepants. Mmmm.

Anyways, finished my first layout! I'd have a lot to say about it but I'm running short on time, got lots to draw before going to bed haha.

Brush pen doodles

More doodles

More Goofy!

And finally, a bunch of life drawings!

In clean up class we're drawing Goofy! We were given a bunch of models sheets and were tasked to draw him as accurately as we can. It's pretty challenging to draw such an old, established character since everyone knows what he should look like. Although there are different versions of Goofy, my favorite would have to be the one used in The Goofy Movie (I will forever love that movie!). These sketches were pretty much just copied from the model sheets haha, but there are a few in there that were from my imagination(all the bad ones). I really tried to draw using my whole arm instead of my wrist or elbow, and I def see a difference. I've been trying to draw like that for a while but I'd always forget about it and revert back to how I usually draw without thinking. I need to make it a habit!

Here's a rough character rotation animation I'm doing in action analysis class. It's not perfect, but I'm actually pleased with how it's looking, my understanding of perspective and form has really improved since I started college.  So this is Relatively Strong Girl all fleshed out, but I'll be adding details(such as hair) and cleaning it up later. Fun stuff!

Went to life drawing tonight, alway a nice relaxing time. I seriously love life drawing so much, even though I'm not all that happy with my skill level yet. I've been reading about gesture drawing lately and I really want to improve. I don't want to draw things that just "look pretty", I want to be able to tell the story of the pose and bring things to life. Thursday night sessions are a good time to experiment, so that's what I did. I'm just trying different ways to approach the poses. I've got a lot to learn!

Muscle study assignment

Like I mentioned above, I really have improved my knowledge of perspective buuuuuuut doesn't mean I don't still hit walls sometimes haha. But it's cool, I learn a lot more from my mistakes than successes anyways.
